You may have heard the saying, “The only thing constant is change”. Things change all the time, but is it always good? As I write this on my laptop computer, I am reminded about how that has changed over time. Just as I figure out how to use the latest version of Windows, there is a new version and I have to start learning all over again. I do love learning, but it can be frustrating always being behind the learning curve and I am not always a fan of this type of change. I know the new software version will enable me to do more and do it faster which is good change, but it does have a price.
My teammate Sarah has had some big changes in her life. I remember when we first met. She was writing a contract on her first house that I had listed. I could tell she didn’t have a lot of experience and coached her as to some things she might do differently, and our relationship began. We have been partners for around 5 years, and I can see the change in her from that first contract to delivering fabled service to her clients. She really blossomed and will do well in anything she puts her mind towards. During this time, her family grew, and she and Lewie were blessed with three children under the age of 5 years old. What a handful for two working parents. She needed help that can only come from family. They made the tough decision to move back “home” to Florida where she grew up so they could get help with the kids from Sarah’s family. This is good change for her, but not so good for The Thompson Group as we had become very close, and I frequently referred to her as my other daughter.
So how does The Thompson Group enact good change without Sarah? I previously used this space to introduce you to Dan, Chris, Trenton, and Karen who are dedicated to carry the torch where Sarah left off, but it must be still on my mind as I felt compelled to write about this again. Sarah did a great job serving her clients because of who she is and the systems she had in place. The Thompson Group is always looking for ways we can better serve the needs of our clients and rolled out the Homebot Wealth Building service last month. We are servants at the core of our business and use the same systems and services that proved so successful for Sarah. We are dedicated to serving Sarah’s clients and giving them the same five-star customer service, they received from Sarah.
So, this change is good and even though we won’t be able to see Sarah every day, we will be able to see the joy of satisfaction in her clients that we continue to serve.
