About
Aaron is a dedicated Real Estate Advisor with the Thompson Group, bringing a unique life story that has cultivated a deeply compassionate and client-focused approach to real estate. A native of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Aaron benefited from a childhood defined by a strong foundation built on relationships, music and a passion for sports. He delivered the local newspaper for many years, took piano lessons from an early age and played trumpet from 5th grade through graduation. He also excelled in football, basketball, and track & field at Cedar Falls High School.
After graduation, Aaron began a journey of self-discovery. He initially pursued a career in law enforcement, taking police science classes at a local community college with the ambition of working for the FBI. A change of heart led him to work in a car dealership for several years, where he honed his skills in client relations and service. This experience set the stage for his return to college, where he studied biology and chemistry at the University of Northern Iowa. During his studies, he found himself drawn to the mortuary business, influenced by family members who had dedicated their lives to it. This led him to Worsham College in Chicago, where he earned his mortuary degree following graduation from the University of Northern Iowa. His professional life then took him to Memphis, Tennessee. where he served as a funeral director while his wife, Amber, completed optometry school. It was during this time that the couple took a memorable trip to Colorado, sparking a shared dream of one day making it their home. That dream became a reality when they moved to Loveland in the summer of 2011 following Amber’s graduation.
Aaron’s long-standing fascination with the unique character of homes along with the deep desire to become a trusted real estate advocate for his future clients inspired him to pursue and ultimately obtain his Colorado real estate license in 2017. Today, Aaron and Amber are the proud owners of Aspen Eyecare in Estes Park, where Aaron was helping out before seizing the opportunity to join the Thompson Group full-time. He feels his experience in funeral service has uniquely prepared him to be a trusted and empathetic advisor for clients navigating the significant milestone of buying, selling or investing in real estate.
In his free time, Aaron and Amber love to travel and see family and friends. They also enjoy staying active and spending time with their three golden retrievers, Ace, Abraham and Winston. As passionate advocates for animals, they foster dogs through the Estes Park Pet Association. Aaron also enjoys working out at the Estes Valley Community Center and playing his acoustic guitar. Aaron is a strong believer in lifelong learning which has helped him continually perfect his craft while earning various real estate designations in the process. He is a Certified Mountain Area Specialist, Seller Representative Specialist, Accredited Buyer’s Representative as well as a Certified Negotiation Expert. About
Trenton’s connection to the Rocky Mountains began as a seasonal draw during the summers of 2019 and 2020, but it quickly evolved into a lifelong calling. A native of Kansas, he spent those early years working in the Estes Valley and realized that the rugged skyline felt more like home than the plains ever had. After graduating from Kansas State University in May of 2021 with a degree in Marketing, he and his wife, Hannah, officially made the move to Estes Park in August of 2022. Since then, Trenton has focused on weaving his professional expertise into the fabric of the community he loves.
In 2022, he launched his own firm, Elevation Peak Marketing, bringing a modern and strategic edge to local business growth. His transition into the real estate world was a natural progression of that entrepreneurial spirit. Since joining The Thompson Group in 2022, Trenton has treated the team and his clients like an extension of his own family. By the time he obtained his real estate license in 2025, he had already established a reputation for blending high-level marketing tactics with a deep, personal investment in the Estes Park lifestyle. He takes immense pride in helping others find their footing in the mountains, using his background to ensure every property he represents is showcased with professional-grade precision.
The most meaningful chapter of Trenton’s life began this past December with the birth of his daughter. Becoming a father has given him a new perspective on the importance of home and the legacy of growing up surrounded by nature. When he isn’t navigating the complexities of a real estate transaction or developing a new marketing campaign, Trenton is almost certainly outdoors. Whether he is fly fishing the local waters, playing a round of disc golf, or camping under the stars, he finds his greatest joy in exploring the backcountry of Rocky Mountain National Park with Hannah and their baby girl. For Trenton, being part of The Thompson Group isn’t just a career—it is a way to serve the neighbors and the landscape that make his life in Estes Park so fulfilling.

Karen Thompson
Administrative Assistant

Karen@estesparkhome.com
About
Karen was transplanted to Fort Morgan, Colorado at the age of nine, coming with her family from the panhandle of Texas. Hereford, to be exact, where the cows have white faces. Being the third of four daughters, she was pretty much the middle child (and the favorite, she thinks). Karen and Scott were married in 1983, and daughter Kellie was born five years later. Daughter Shannon came along a short 22 months after Kellie.
After moving to Estes Park in 2008, Karen was employed by the Town of Estes Park in the Community Development Department. In 2017, she was hired by the Estes Valley Land Trust as their Office Manager, and thoroughly enjoyed working with the many volunteers at that organization. After a sudden turnover at Scott’s office, Karen and Scott decided that Karen should be the Administrative Assistant for Scott and the newly formed Thompson Group. Although she enjoys working with The Thompson Group, her real passion lies with volunteering and helping others. Karen has volunteered for the Estes Park Rotary Duck Race every year since 2010. Karen was appointed President of the Estes Park Rotary Club for 2023-2024. She also enjoys volunteering at Summit Church.
One of her favorite ways to help clients is by helping them get their homes ready to sell. This can involve packing, cleaning, sorting, selling, and donating items at the owner’s discretion and taking care of all of those details that can easily become overwhelming when people are moving. Karen is most proud of being married to Scott for over 40 years, her kids, and summitting Longs Peak when she was 51. She loves their grandsons Conrad and Griffin, with all her heart.
